I found a lovely typography print on Pinterest yesterday in my lonely state, thanks for your prayers!

A Parent's Promise by Joel Felix I am not your friend—I am your parent. I will stalk you, flip out on you, lecture you, drive you insane, be your worst nightmare and hunt you down when needed, because I love you. When you understand that, I will know you're a responsible adult. You will never find someone who loves, prays, cares and worries about you more than me. This is my promise to you."

A Parent’s Promise by Joel Felix

It Reads:

“I am not your friend – I am your parent.

I will stalk you, flip out on you, lecture you, drive you insane, be your worst nightmare and hunt you down when needed, because I love you.

When you understand that, I will know you’re a responsible adult. You will never find someone who loves, prays, cares and worries about you more than me.

This is my promise to you.”

Do you think Joel would make this into wallpaper?

Easter Egg Mail

Guess who’s getting an egg for Easter? Almost every Christian child [young and old], of course. But how many are getting their egg… wait for it… in the mail!? My C girl, that’s who!

While out and about, I picked up a larger sized plastic egg [it happened to be pre-filled with sour candies, yay],  some chocolates, and a small gift tag card and then I arranged the egg with cellophane grass. Total cost with shipping, about $8, which most likely would have been a lot cheaper had we went with less expensive chocolate choices.

Easter Egg Mail

Easter Egg Mail

In order to hide the contents for mailing, I covered the inside of the clear plastic egg top with fancy blue and white polka dot duck tape, it fixes everything, right? I also used the decorative duck tape to hide the egg seam, you definitely would not want your egg to hatch prematurely.

Easter Scripture

I chose a special Easter scripture to write in the card to be mailed in the egg:

Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this? John 11:25-26

Voila, the finished product, the stickers are pretty well stuck, so I am very confident that we will see this baby again soon!

Easter Egg

How excited would your kids be to get a treat of this size in the MAIL?! If you plan on sending these to your own home this year, I suggest putting them in the mail by Wednesday, April 4. There is no mail run on Friday, so you should have the eggs back home by Saturday.

Do you have a special treat for your kids on Easter?

UPDATE: There will be a mail run on Friday [I usually assume No Coupon Inster weekends as no mail weekends, you know what they say about assumptions], so you still have time to mail your eggs out Thursday, maybe Friday if your post office is within a short range of your home.

Every year I try to think of a fun cake to make for my sweet C for her birthday. Although her birthday is months away, she is turning 13 and I want this one to be uber-special.

I have started jotting down ideas and listening to things that she likes and doesn’t like [I got this idea from an amazing book I’m reading]. She doesn’t live with us, y’all, so this is pretty difficult to get out of many weekends and Tuesday night dinners – I have to be, like, super stepmom on a recon mission.

Here are a few homemade cakes from years past:

#7 Cake

Butterfly Cake

Penguins Cake

So far on my jot list of likes are: Harry Potter, Zebra stripes, hair accessories, clothing. On my list of dislikes: everything else. Hah!

Looks like I have my work cut out for myself, lots of listening will be happening in the months ahead!

What about you, do you spoil your special someone or friend on their birthday with a fun cake or treat? Email me your best creation, there just might be something sweet in it for you ;)

H Wedding

Happy 3rd Anniversary

To my amazing Husband,

I love you more today than I did when I married you. You are a wonderful Husband and Father and a tremendous leader to our family. I am so grateful God gave me the strength to take you on, you are my life’s biggest journey and I enjoy every minute we are together.

To my sweet Daughter,

I never knew I could love somebody, so much, who was not my own creation. God has given me you to bring up in Him and I am grateful for His challenge; you are so precious to me and I love you more that you can imagine. I pray to help you soar high and be amazing in His [and our] eyes.

Please pray for my dear family. We are in our third year, with many more to come. As we enter a world that is broken, please become parallel in our prayers that we will stay on the straight and narrow, in God’s word and on God’s path.

Happy Anniversary!!!! I love my Peeps!

Mom + Dad

PS~Today is ALSO my parents 33 year anniversary! How special is it that B and I married 30 years after my parents? Happy 06.07.80 Mom and Dad! I Love Y’all!
