Remember back in the day when we first got our sweet Dakota and we were still trying to find what fits her style… and what doesn’t? Remember the tattoos I received from one of our tests? Well, today, my friends, I have another test that has been long outlived.

I had my ganglion cyst expunged.

What does that have to do with this pretty girl?

You see, we run… A LOT… and I get tired of holding her leash in a fist, so I moved it to my wrist, easy to maneuver and hold in place without having to run with a solid fist the whole time. Runners, you understand, right? As it turns out, this is a bad idea to lead your pup in this manner and will cause trauma to your wrist if a squirrel or cat runs by and you are not ready for the jolt.

So, I’ve had this baby since before our Ironman in Austin, at least 2 months. I was going to add a picture of the before, but I didn’t take one because it hurt so bad after I got it shrunk down to the size I thought it wouldn’t hurt anymore… but I was wrong. You can look it up if you want, some of them are PRETTY nasty.

But here is my after shot:CystMy Dr. numbed it with lidocane [which set my wrist on fire... GIRL ON FIRE, yall] then used a 16 gauge needle to try and suck out the goo… but that didn’t work so we worked together like it was the mother of all pimples. It was AWESOME! Nothing like two grown women going at a pimple, right? You’re welcome for the visual, its burned in my brain too.

So, if ever you need suggestions on pet rearing when it comes to leashes, I feel I am well qualified to help you out. Also, when it comes to tetanus shots and other 16 gauge needles, I’m you’re gal.

PS – My daughter has been getting at me to “just get that nasty thing off” for the last 2 weeks, so I sent her the able “selfie”. Her response “Such a sad selfie, but yay! No more nasty bump.” <3

Today, I went to get a pack of M&M’s from the candy drawer and this is what I opened up to:

I am SO sad. All of my Hershey with Almond down the trash bag… and the Hershey kisses and the tootsie rolls. WHAT A WORLD!!

I sent the pic to our amazing exterminator, Jeff at Superior Pest [281-753-2677], and he has verified that the teeth marks are from mice and not Anole lizards as I wished, haha.

I know it has happened within the last week because my Sweet C went to the drawer just last Friday for some gum to chew without any eyebrows raised.

This is what Dak think’s about the whole situation after I’ve texted B and C the pictures incriminating the mice who encroached our glorious candy space. This is exactly why C and I have been polling for a cat for the past year, no mouse would have gotten away with this with a cat in the house!

So… If you find some great deals on candy… Let me know!

Today, I want to tell you/remind you about some great opportunities to save on [almost] all purchases made online through an example of my shopping trip today.

My little D had demodex when we adopted her from Lucky Dog Rescue, she came with meds and a complete care regimen to clear the pesky little mites in no time. However, once they have it, minimal amounts remain living in their little bodies and will make themselves present with many health and environmental factors. Lately, D has been dealing with severe anxiety and back tracking on her positive abilities… I seriously think she has RAD.

Scared Dog

Anyways, I digress.

Dakota and I finally went to pick up her free bag of Bil-Jac Super Premium Dry Dog Food last week and the results are incredible.

Remember when you had to use the food ball when your pup was little – to keep them from eating too fast? I had to break it out again because this food is like dog food heaven apparently, and it cannot be eaten quick enough! I caught Dakota in action one morning, you will see here how she is taking out the pieces of her old food and putting them on the floor… to be picked up by Mom later because they are just sub-par. I guess this means she loves the Bil-Jac dog food and that I better not come home with the old lack-luster food. ever. again.

The food is about the size of rabbit food and smells like… chicken. Which is a good thing because Bil-Jac uses 10lbs of fresh farm-raised chicken to make one 15lb bag of their premium dog food.  Who else is going to tell you how much REAL product is actually in the mix? They slow cook their high quality protein [chicken + chicken organs] and high quality carbohydrates [fine ground corn meal] in small batches to maintain optimum temperatures which in turn protects the core nutrition and chicken taste of the Bil-Jac product.

Bil-Jac Premium Dry Dog Food comes in many different varieties to suit the needs of your dog:

  • Puppy
  • Select Adult
  • Reduced Fat
  • Senior
  • Large Breed
  • Small Breed
  • Sensitive Solutions

We purchased the Select Adult variety because Dakota is very active and it had the right proportion of carbohydrates for her active lifestyle. She has been chowing on this for a little over a week now and she has a much better attitude, for real, she is more happy and energetic – most likely because she is not being weighted down by stiff stool or cheap fillers. Also, I have noticed a great change in her coat’s appearance – it is already shiny black, but she had pretty bad dandruff because of the Texas summer, now it has become more smooth and minimal dandruff is left after bathing and brushing. Yay!

Log on to Bil-Jac for more information, testimonials and success stories from dog parents everywhere who have experienced the difference of Bil-Jac Super Premium dog food.

Now, on to the giveaway! Bzz-Agent suppied me with 4 - $10 OFF coupons in my sweet little BzzKit and I have saved two exclusively for the first two people to leave a qualified comment [with name and email address for contacting, of course!] answering this question:

What is your pups name and what breed/mix is he/she?

I will announce the two winners here within the week! Good Luck!

Disclaimer: BzzAgent compensated me with FREE Bil-Jac dry dog food and coupons. The proposed opinions are my own.

B and I had a wonderful weekend, outside of missing our girl on vacation in Colorado and dealing with a rat. Ok, not really a rat, but our sweetest girl needed a baby sitter for her guinea pig during vacation, and this mom will do anything for her girl… pretty much.

It was exhausting, but we did exactly what we had intended to do, like:

Relax after a long hard week [it needs documenting that we actually got out of the house, LoL]

Listen to good music [Thanks, Buck Yeager!]

Buck Yeager

Even D had a great weekend, can’t you tell?

 Here’s to great weekends!

PS. Buck Yeager Band [and the H fam] will be at Lone Star Ice House [10801 Spring Cypress Rd] on Friday, July 22. Be there, or be square ;)

Florida Sillys

Today is one of my most disliked days of. all. time. It’s the day that my baby girl returns to her Mom’s for summer break.

We have had a great summer so far and we will have more time in August. Some of the cool things we accomplished:

  • Traveling to Florida
  • Snorkeling
  • Riding a personalized Roller Coaster
  • Laying on a Bed of Nails
  • Racing GoCarts
  • Swimming
  • Playing Volleyball
  • Playing Football
  • Eating a lot of Ice Cream
  • Snacking on Chocolate Donuts
  • Picking Veggies from the garden
  • Reading for fun
  • Singing for fun
  • Laughing for fun

I am going to miss her little groggy head in the morning and her smart laugh at the TV or at D.

She picked out D’s new baby the other day, D just loves it… probably because Sister picked it out.

D and Baby

I am truly blessed to have been given such an amazing daughter, one who I miss SO much when she is not around. She’s my silly girl and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
