THE FIRST MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL IN THE WORLD!

MY SWEET SWEET GIRL, CAMERON!!!

She is 11 today. Wow! Where has the past 5 years gone? Daddy, Grandpa Bud, Uncle Sean, Aunt Kanda, Scarlett and I took her to Sea World in San Antonio for her birthday when she turned 6, that is the first time we (Cameron and I) ever met and I haven’t neglected any sweet minute of it. I LOVE MY GIRL!

I will go on and brag about her a bit, it’s her day. She is SO smart, creative and mature, she knows to set goals and always reaches them. She might need a little push start, but she is so intelligent.

She knows the Lord is helping her out, she is very responsive to praying for help and enjoys her friends at church; she is SUPER excited about church camp this summer with TWO of her friends. Phil 4:13.

She loves to play ball, volleyball that is. She is an awesome server and plays defense like you wouldn’t believe. She is like her Daddy though, very aggressive and has a winning spirit; you know the girl yelling at her teammates to get at it and stop messing around, that’s MY girl!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY!

Bring on the green sauce. Bring on the Krimpets. Bring on the Cake!

Yesterday, Tuesday, April 13, 2010, God brought the second most beautiful baby girl into the world. Her name is Abbey and I am the super proud Auntie Lis, in fact.

Mom went in to labor early yesterday morning and quickly progressed to 10cm before 12pm. I got the text that my sweet little muffin took her first breath of air around 12:30pm. I cannot be more proud in this moment for my brother- and sister-in-law, they deserve this little bug and I cannot wait to hold her more and influence her even more.

I pray that this sweet darling has the most perfect, yet challenging, life ahead of her. We all know God did not promise an easy life, but I am going to help in making it as enjoyable as possible!

A few years ago, I was really upset with Lowe’s for advertising “family trees” rather than “Christmas Trees”. It seems retailers all over this country are getting more PR sensitive when it comes to Our Father and his most precious Son, Jesus, especially during the Christmas season. My thought – if it weren’t for such and AMAZING occurrence, this whole Christmas, wise men, gift giving thing wouldn’t have even started in the first place.

There is a great website that was sent to me by Focus on the Family, it is called Stand For Christmas, where Christian’s are able to gather their thoughts on where to shop now, and in the future, in relation to how they are promoting, or demoting, the Christmas holiday.

Merry Christmas to all my friends and I wish you all a prosperous season!

PS – Lowe’s DID offer an apology for their mistake.

I want to send out a special shout out to all my retail friends who are busy busy with Tax Free weekend. May you keep your patience and kindness towards each of your customers. Greet them with a smile, treat them like they have a million dollars to spend and send them on their way joyful to have happened upon such a wonderful spirit as yours.

I was just out in this shopping mess since we live in a neighborhood with a new shopping mall. Very convenient! When I got home, I have to admit, I was a little stressed… until I read my daily Proverb:

“Don’t fail to discipline your children. They won’t die if you spank them. Physical discipline may well save them from death.” Proverbs 13-14

Don’t do the spanking in public unless absolutely necessary, which, if the child was disciplined before it got to the spanking point, we wouldn’t be having this conversation. I know I am not the only one who has heard about 6,533 times today what is getting taken away “when we get home” or how many pairs of jeans are “going to get put back if you don’t straighten up”. My mom would have left everything, took us home and punished us right then.

So keep your heads up, retailers, it is going to be a rough weekend [you cannot spank other people's children] and remember to be kind and you will have the victory.

On a side note: I did not die from any of my punishments.

Have you ever picked up your bible and said to yourself, “Please let it be a good one, I REALLY need it now!” I have been saying it for the past few days – but since I am reading Proverbs at the moment, they are all REALLY good and work for every situation. Today, I am really focused in on Proverbs 22:4-6 which says:

“True humility and fear of the Lord lead to riches, honor, and long life. Corrupt people walk a thorny, treacherous road; whoever values life will avoid it. Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.”

Take from this what you will, but I like to think that the way I choose to walk in this world will teach my child the same humility and fear that I boast towards the Lord. If we are to come across a person of non-commitment and corruption, let us display our heart and pray for the ones who value their worldly goods rather than their heavenly riches.

PS – If some treacherous persons are reading my blog, thanks!, and I know I am praying for you!

My first blog post ever. I am pretty excited to start this new journey!

I am a Christian who loves to read the Word and share what I think and believe about my life and what God could possibly have in store for my family and me. I will share some of my daily verses with you and maybe you will be able to tell me what you think about them as well, there are so many different perspectives!!!

My husband and I married in June 2008 in which I became a stepmom to the most brilliant and beautiful daughter. She is 10 and will be in the fifth grade this year, a real turning point in a little ladies life. She will face many challenges with friends, teachers, the world, and last, but definitely least, puberty. I am ready to bear all with her when she needs me, but, since I am a childless stepmom, I am in a new seat with watching toes I might tend to step on. Sorry in advance!

Finally, I love getting a good deal! I follow many forums and blogs for shoppers looking for bargains. I am not yet a professional, but I have had quite a few $0 grocery bill totals. Did anybody else love the Kroger Mega doubles last Saturday?! I will try my hardest to let you know any rockin’ deals that I get my hands on.

I enjoy your constructive criticism to make this blog as friendly and enjoyable as possible.

Let’s get this party started!
