Remember back in the day when we first got our sweet Dakota and we were still trying to find what fits her style… and what doesn’t? Remember the tattoos I received from one of our tests? Well, today, my friends, I have another test that has been long outlived.
I had my ganglion cyst expunged.
What does that have to do with this pretty girl?
You see, we run… A LOT… and I get tired of holding her leash in a fist, so I moved it to my wrist, easy to maneuver and hold in place without having to run with a solid fist the whole time. Runners, you understand, right? As it turns out, this is a bad idea to lead your pup in this manner and will cause trauma to your wrist if a squirrel or cat runs by and you are not ready for the jolt.
So, I’ve had this baby since before our Ironman in Austin, at least 2 months. I was going to add a picture of the before, but I didn’t take one because it hurt so bad after I got it shrunk down to the size I thought it wouldn’t hurt anymore… but I was wrong. You can look it up if you want, some of them are PRETTY nasty.
But here is my after shot:My Dr. numbed it with lidocane [which set my wrist on fire... GIRL ON FIRE, yall] then used a 16 gauge needle to try and suck out the goo… but that didn’t work so we worked together like it was the mother of all pimples. It was AWESOME! Nothing like two grown women going at a pimple, right? You’re welcome for the visual, its burned in my brain too.
So, if ever you need suggestions on pet rearing when it comes to leashes, I feel I am well qualified to help you out. Also, when it comes to tetanus shots and other 16 gauge needles, I’m you’re gal.
PS – My daughter has been getting at me to “just get that nasty thing off” for the last 2 weeks, so I sent her the able “selfie”. Her response “Such a sad selfie, but yay! No more nasty bump.” <3
