Guess who’s getting an egg for Easter? Almost every Christian child [young and old], of course. But how many are getting their egg… wait for it… in the mail!? My C girl, that’s who!
While out and about, I picked up a larger sized plastic egg [it happened to be pre-filled with sour candies, yay], some chocolates, and a small gift tag card and then I arranged the egg with cellophane grass. Total cost with shipping, about $8, which most likely would have been a lot cheaper had we went with less expensive chocolate choices.
In order to hide the contents for mailing, I covered the inside of the clear plastic egg top with fancy blue and white polka dot duck tape, it fixes everything, right? I also used the decorative duck tape to hide the egg seam, you definitely would not want your egg to hatch prematurely.
I chose a special Easter scripture to write in the card to be mailed in the egg:
Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this? John 11:25-26
Voila, the finished product, the stickers are pretty well stuck, so I am very confident that we will see this baby again soon!
How excited would your kids be to get a treat of this size in the MAIL?! If you plan on sending these to your own home this year, I suggest putting them in the mail by Wednesday, April 4.
There is no mail run on Friday, so you should have the eggs back home by Saturday.
Do you have a special treat for your kids on Easter?
UPDATE: There will be a mail run on Friday [I usually assume No Coupon Inster weekends as no mail weekends, you know what they say about assumptions], so you still have time to mail your eggs out Thursday, maybe Friday if your post office is within a short range of your home.
